RANDOM PICKER
Spin a wheel to pick names or numbers — with optional no-repeats
Add names (choose how many) or generate numbers from a min/max range. Enable Remove winner to avoid repeats across rounds.
Winner
—
Build the wheel to start.
Controls
If enabled, each winner is removed from the remaining pool.
We recommend ≤ 60 for readable labels.
Empty names are ignored.
Tip: For best results, keep the wheel size reasonable. If you need huge ranges,
set a sample count in Numbers mode.
How this tool works
- Names mode: create fields (or paste names), then click Update wheel.
- Numbers mode: set min/max; optionally sample a smaller count from the range.
- No repeats: enable “Remove winner” to remove picked items from the pool.
Everything runs instantly in your browser — no sign-ups, no paywalls.
Practical guide
Fast setup (names)
- Paste names (one per line) → click Use pasted.
- Click Update wheel → then Spin the wheel.
Fast setup (numbers)
- Set Min and Max → click Update wheel.
- If the range is huge (like 1–10,000), set “How many numbers” to sample (≤ 200).
Best practices
- For readable labels, keep slices under ~60 (or use short names).
- Use Shuffle to randomize slice order before spinning.
- Use Remove winner for giveaways, team picks, or tournament brackets.
Pro tip: For multiple winners, enable Remove winner, spin repeatedly, and use Reset picks when you want to start over.
Troubleshooting
- Spin button is disabled: click Update wheel after adding items. The wheel needs at least 1 item.
- Wheel is blank: you cleared inputs or haven’t built the wheel yet. Add items → Update wheel.
- Names look cut off: shorten names, reduce total slices, or rely on unique initials (e.g., “Sam P.”).
- Numbers range too large: set a count (≤ 200) to sample unique numbers.
- Repeats keep happening: turn on Remove winner. Without it, repeats are expected.
FAQ
Is the wheel truly random?
The selection uses JavaScript’s built-in randomness. For everyday use (games, picks, giveaways),
it’s more than sufficient. If you need cryptographic-grade randomness, this tool isn’t designed for that.
What does “Remove winner” do?
It removes the selected winner from the pool after each spin, so the same entry won’t win again
until you click Reset picks.
How many slices can I add?
Up to 200 entries. For readability, staying under ~60 is recommended.
The wheel will still work at higher counts, but labels get shorter.
Can I pick multiple winners?
Yes. Turn on Remove winner and spin multiple times. Each spin gives a new winner until the pool ends.
Is any data saved or uploaded?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser. We don’t upload, store, or retain your wheel entries on our servers.
How do I restart a new round?
Click Reset picks to restore the original pool. Click Clear to wipe everything and start fresh.
